Liturgy means ‘Work of the People’
The goal of the Liturgy Committee is to provide ‘life-giving celebrations of the Mass.’
This is accomplished through the following ways:
- Ministries of music and décor, which help create a worship environment that reflects the liturgical seasons of the Church year such as Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, and Ordinary time.
- Sacristans, Altar Servers, Lectors, and Eucharistic Ministers (Bread and Cup) all of whom enrich every Mass with their service and preparation.
- Catechesis such as Children’s Liturgy and Bible Study groups, which give us a better understanding of our faith.
Being a part of the Liturgy planning not only brings a deeper understanding of why the Mass flows the way it does but it brings me closer to God through prayer. The planning begins with Prayer….asking God to help and guide me in planning the music for each Mass.
What interests you? Where do you feel called to help? All the ministries need volunteers and this is a great way to not only meet new people at Church but to feel that you are part of something truly uplifting.
To become involved in one of the ministries, please contact Jackie Hagen at the Church Office at 306-773-9524 and she will have the correct person contact you.
